Preliminary Design
The preliminary design process involves the client sending a project grading plan, photographs and geotechnical information for the subject site to Engineered Earth Solutions, LLC.  The majority of the time, this can be accomplished via email using pdf documents, drawing files and digital photographs.  EES can then estimate complete quantities for the project.  The quantities typically include face area, reinforcement, stone fill, filter fabric, drain pipe, etc.  The quantities are then forwarded to the client for bidding purposes.

Final Design
The final design stage involves producing a set of signed and sealed construction drawings and calculations for the project.  All final designs meet NCMA or AASHTO guidelines.  Final designs typically include construction notes, design parameters, elevation views, plan views, cross sections, details and all calculations.  The calculations include internal and external stability analysis.  Global stability, rapid drawdown and seismic stability analysis are also performed if required by the project location/conditions.  Many designers do not include these calculations as part of their analysis.  It is critical that these issues are addressed in the design.  All final design documents are signed and sealed by a Professional Engineer and are issued for constuction.  The final design also includes a neat quantity takeoff for the project.

Construction Verification/Testing
Construction verification is the term used when an engineer or technician is sent to the site daily as construction progresses and the project is signed off by the engineer of record.  The field personel verifies the design parameters, performs soil tests and confirms that the wall is being constructed per the design documents.  When the job is complete, the engineer of record will issue a signed and sealed letter to the client, confirming that the structure was constructed per the design documents.  The letter is then submitted to the local municipality as required.

Foresic Investigation/Repair Design
Engineered Earth Solutions, LLC provides forensic investigation of landslides and retaining wall/slope failures across the country.  EES can determine the cause of failure/movement and provide a repair solution.  EES engineers have extensive experience in all types of failures including: poor construction, global stability, bearing capacity, sliding, facing connection, and failures cause by hydrostatic pressure.
